Intro to Objective: Life By Design

  I have a confession.

I have been in thousands of homes.

I love home decor.

I counsel clients on how to stage their homes and often even pick all the colors and finishes when they are getting them ready to sell.

With all this knowledge and experience I've never ever been able to put my own home together how I want.

It just seems no matter how hard I try, it does not come together. Part of it is lack of time. Part of it is our hectic life style and frankly that I am investing a lot of time helping clients and often have little left over for myself. I have always been a "do your work first, then you can play" person and well....decorating feels like playing. Not only that but I some how have ended up with a lot of things that people have given me I would not have picked and ....well, my husband is impatient and often just goes out and buys something or....expects me to pick out things on a day I had no idea I was going to purchase an item and he only wants to look one place.....much of the house is well....rather unplanned looking to put it nicely.

On top of this, I have not completely purged the house since we moved in in 2012. Lots has changed since then for us. It's time. It's also time to decorate the way I want things. I am ready. I am committed. It's going to happen. It's already happening. I can tell you from where we are now, there is a reason why no one has "during" pictures. They are worse than the before pics and not nearly as inspiring as the after pics. So, get ready, if you'd like to follow this journey I am going to blog about it and share my boards in real time on Pintrest. I also will be giving away items we don't need. I have a lot of those. If you do need them, let me know if you are local you can pick them up from me. If you are not local....well not sure how I will handle that. Want to see the REAL journey of making a home what you want? Honestly I am not sure if I am up for it or can accomplish it. I've wanted to do this for the decades that I've been married and have not accomplished it yet. A little scared to take this on so publicly but here goes......
